Here at Neurosurgical Associates of Central Jersey, we’re the experts in remedying conditions affecting the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The PNS is made up of all the nerves outside of the brain and spinal cord.

Its primary job is to connect the central nervous system (CNS) to the body’s muscles, glands, blood vessels and organs, especially the sensory organs like the eyes and ears. The PNS is divided into the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system: the first regulates voluntary body movement and receives external stimuli; the second controls involuntary body functions relying on the heart muscle, muscles in blood vessel walls, and glands.
